About

How we move through the work together

People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons — moments that feel heavy, confusing, or hard to carry alone, as well as times when life is full but complicated. Sometimes it’s simply the sense that something has been building quietly in the background and needs attention.

We take things as they are. There’s no expectation to arrive in a certain way or to have everything figured out. We notice what feels important, what feels possible, and what has been asking for space. Some weeks the work is clearer; other weeks it’s quieter or heavier. All of that has a place here.

Over time, people often find a little more room inside themselves — enough to breathe, to think, and to meet what’s been happening with a steadier footing.

A Little More About the Work

Not a push toward perfection, but a place to stop, breathe, and begin to understand what’s been happening.

Counselling often starts with having enough time and space to notice the things you’ve been managing on your own — the thoughts that loop, the feelings that come and go, the parts of life that feel tangled or out of reach. We take it slowly. Nothing needs to be solved straight away.

Over time, people often find small shifts that matter: a bit more room inside themselves, a steadier sense of footing, or moments of clarity that had been out of reach.

How I Work

We go gently, and we work with what feels possible

Most people arrive carrying more than they realise. We begin by slowing things down enough to notice what’s been happening, without needing to tidy it up or make sense of it immediately.

This is a calm, steady place to talk openly — the things you’ve been holding in, the things you’re unsure how to say, the things that feel too much or not enough.

Nothing is rushed. Nothing is forced. We stay with whatever feels possible for you on the day. Some weeks the work feels lighter; other weeks it’s heavier or quieter. All of it has a place here.

People often discover capacities they didn’t know they had, especially when they feel supported enough to look.

What You Can Expect

A way of working that is steady and manageable

The work moves gently, with room for honesty, reflection, and the kind of small shifts that help things feel more possible.

Space to speak openly

There’s room to speak openly about what feels tangled, unclear, or difficult. You don’t need to have the right words.

Gentle awareness

We pay attention to what’s happening inside you with care, not judgement. This often creates a little more space to breathe, think, or feel.

Small shifts that matter

The work isn’t about becoming a different person. It’s about finding steadier ground, a bit more room inside yourself, and ways of moving through life that feel more possible

Wayne, counsellor

Meet Wayne, Counsellor

I’m Wayne, a counsellor based in Manchester. I’ve spent many years working with people who are trying to make sense of difficult or overwhelming parts of their lives. My approach is steady, thoughtful, and shaped by realworld experience of sitting with people through many different moments.

I don’t push for quick fixes. I offer a calm, reliable space where you can talk openly and begin to understand what’s been happening. We take things one step at a time. People often appreciate the quiet, unhurried nature of the work — enough room to breathe, think, and look at things that have been hard to face alone.

If you’d like to get a sense of whether we might work well together, you’re welcome to book a first conversation.

Sessions can be online or by telephone.

A First Step

You’re welcome to take your time and see whether this feels right for you.

Reaching out doesn’t mean having everything clear. Sometimes it simply means making room for a first conversation and seeing what support might help.
